In the quaint village of Sleepy Hollow, stories of wonder and strangeness surround the legend of the mighty headless Hessian. When the new schoolteacher Ichabod Crane vies for the hand of the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel, the townsfolk might protest, but it is ultimately the Horesman who will decide his fate in this silly and spooktacular tale...perfect for the Halloween season!
Performances October 25-November 3.
Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 and Sundays at 2:00

Vlaicu David (Old Man 2, Villager, horse, student, Sleepy Hollow Boy) is an exchange student from Romania, he goes to Lee Senior. Vlaicu is very friendly, likes to make fun of everything (including himself). Because he’s good at lying to himself and he likes attention he took up theatre as a hobby. Nobody knows if he’s good at it, but he acts like he is, like the saying goes: Fake it till you make it.

Grey Coleman (Gunpowder, Old Man 1, Villager, Sleepy Hollow Boy, student) is originally from Tampa Florida, Grey has had a passion for the arts since she was a tiny human herself. From home videos, performing mini skits with her older sister, to playing a Big Bad Wolf with “stupid allergies” during theater summer camp in upstate New York, to teaching high school theater- she has always loved stepping into any new role given to her. Grey has received a BA in Theater Studies, double minors in Cinema Studies and Mass Communications from the University of Central Florida- where she got to study theatre abroad in Italy. Since then, she has professionally worked with Jobsite Theater in Tampa FL, entertained thousands of guests for Norwegian Cruise Lines – getting to be “friends” with Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob and Cosmo, as well as walked tall for Busch Gardens Tampa Bay as a stilt walker. Currently Miss Grey is a quick-witted, fast-talking standup comedian and improviser performing regularly Friday nights at the PIT-Chapel Hill. As a newcomer to the Southern Pines area, she is very excited to be a part of the Encore Center family and hopes to positively impact the arts in the Southern Pines community through teaching and laughter.
Greta Marie Zandstra (Artistic Director, Costumer) Although an Indiana farm girl at heart, Greta Marie Zandstra has spent much of the last fifteen years living and working in North Carolina. Since earning her undergraduate degree in theatre and dance from Saint Mary’s College/Notre Dame and her graduate degree in dramatic arts from the University of Nebraska, she has had the opportunity to perform, direct, teach, and choreograph at numerous theatres and is looking forward to creating a new artistic home for performers and audience members in the Sandhills.
Becky Podlogar (Stage Manager) is excited to be the Stage Manager for Encore’s inaugural season. Although she has spent the majority of her life working in healthcare, she has felt the pull of the theatre since she was merely 5 years old, meeting her husband when the two starred together in their kindergarten class’s play in an elementary school gymatorium. It was their last stage production together until he proposed on the same stage 17 years later. Becky is delighted to be stage managing her third production this year, and would like to thank her husband Alex (married now 21 years), daughter Allison, and Sarah and Greta for their love, support and encouragement. Becky is thrilled to be part of the joy of theatre and performing arts in Downtown Southern Pines.
