Jacqueline is originally from Jacksonville, NC and as a young child loved to draw, create, decorate, and work with younger children. She also had a strong passion for architecture, so originally studied Architectural Design & Drafting at Coastal Carolina Community College. She then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Design from East Carolina University. After graduating, she spent many years as an Interior Designer and drafter in both NC & SC areas.
With a continued interest to work with young children and an eventual call to teach, she returned to East Carolina University and Barton College to complete her teaching certification. She taught in the NC public school system for 14 years & was selected as a Teacher of the Year in 2007. In 2017, she moved to Moore County & for the last year and a half has been homeschooling her youngest daughter, getting her certification in Therapeutic Art Coaching, teaching art to small groups of local children, & assisting with art & education programs for the Moore County Library.
When she’s not teaching, she’s painting, drawing, gardening, reading, cooking, volunteering at the Moore Humane Society, or just enjoying time with her family & their three cats.
She truly agrees with Pablo Picasso... “every child is an artist,” and thoroughly enjoys teaching, creating, and sharing her knowledge with them.
