2026-2027 SEASON AUDITION INFORMATION
We are holding our Season Auditions for the upcoming season of Encore Theatre's Mainstage Productions on July 24th from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm and July 25th from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm. Below, you will find the specifications for what to prepare for the audition and a list of shows we have this season.
What to prepare:
All actors must perform a 1 - 2 minute monologue. This can be comedic or dramatic.
If you are going to sing, please prepare a 16-32 bar cut of any musical style song. So, selecting a song in the style of that particular show is recommended.
NOTE: There will not be an accompanist, so please bring your track on your phone to connect via AUX or Bluetooth. Please email director@encorecenter.net with any questions.
Where are the Auditions?
The Auditions will be held at Encore Theatre in Southern Pines:
160 E. New Hampshire Ave.
Southern Pines, NC 28387
Please park in the back parking lot, which can be easily accessed from N Ashe St. Enter through the back door. The holding room will be your first door on your right. Please sign in as soon as you arrive and wait to be called into the audition room.
NOTE: Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to warm up and prepare! We may run ahead of schedule, so this will help us keep the auditions moving!

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Laura Eason
Our season kicks off this September with a story that’s as American as apple pie. Based on The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and adapted by Laura Eason, this imaginative production brings to life one of the greatest childhood adventures ever told.
Join Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, and Becky Thatcher as they navigate mischief, first love, and thrilling escapades—from whitewashing fences to discovering hidden treasure. Along the way, they encounter danger, excitement, and the unforgettable lessons of growing up.

Tall Tales of Appalachia (SCHOOL TOUR) by Connor Gerney
This fall, Encore Theatre proudly brings back Connor Gerney’s original production, Tall Tales of Appalachia, expanding its reach to audiences in Harnett and Lee Counties.
Blending storytelling, history, and theatrical flair, this engaging production celebrates the rich folklore and cultural heritage of our region. After a successful tour across Moore County, this educational and entertaining experience continues its journey—sharing the larger-than-life stories that define Appalachia with even more communities.
Get ready for an unforgettable celebration of local legend, tradition, and imagination.

It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play adapted by Joe Landry
This holiday season, a beloved American classic comes to life in a unique and captivating way. Inspired by the iconic film directed by Frank Capra, this stage adaptation presents It’s a Wonderful Life as a 1940s live radio broadcast.
With a talented ensemble bringing dozens of characters to life, the story follows George Bailey as he faces a moment of despair on Christmas Eve. Little Women: The Musical
